Home charging: planning your setup
Start with your parking space, electrical installation and daily needs.
Define your needs
Note daily distance and how long the car stays parked. The highest charging power is not always necessary. Also compare the car’s accepted AC power: a more powerful charger does not automatically make the car charge faster.
Have the installation assessed
Have a qualified professional assess the circuit, protection and available power. In shared buildings or rented property, clarify permissions and how electricity use will be allocated. Request a quote covering equipment, installation and any necessary work.
Plan an alternative
Even with home charging, identify an accessible public station. Check the connector, payment method and opening hours. Keep your installer’s details and equipment documentation.
