What does charging actually cost?
Price per kilowatt-hour and energy consumption are the starting points. Where you charge can change the result.
Use your own tariff
Enter the applicable rate from your bill or the charging operator. Home and rapid-charging prices are not interchangeable. If you use several locations, calculate a weighted average based on how much you charge at each.
Count the energy you purchase
Some energy is lost during charging. Our calculator lets you add an assumed loss rate to battery demand. If your measured consumption already includes these losses, set the rate to zero to avoid double-counting. Check session and parking fees separately.
Compare the same distance
Compare both powertrains over 100 km and then your annual distance. This result covers energy only. It excludes insurance, servicing, depreciation, finance and charging equipment.
