One brand, two powertrains

BYD Morocco separates its electric cars from its plug-in hybrids. Within our selection, Seagull, Atto 3, Seal and Sealion 7 are electric; Seal 5, Seal U and Sealion 5 DM-i are plug-in hybrids. The Seal name alone does not identify a powertrain. Ask for the full model name, trim and model year. Our table covers published AtlasVolt records, not the distributor’s entire range or inventory.

Which price should you compare?

The table shows each record’s price, source and qualifications. A promotion, a range’s entry price and a better-equipped trim are not interchangeable. Ask for a quotation separating registration, paint, options, any fees and its validity period. A monthly payment alone cannot compare two purchases: include deposit, term and financing cost. AtlasVolt does not sell these vehicles or confirm their availability.

Electric or DM-i: start with charging access

Before selecting a powertrain, write down where the car parks overnight and your mileage in a normal week. An EV needs a charging plan that works in everyday life. For a plug-in hybrid, compare two scenarios: regular battery charging and trips driven mainly on petrol. If reliable charging is unavailable, do not base your budget on consumption achieved with a full battery.

Range: keep the figures comparable

Compare electric range with electric range, using the same test cycle and the trim you intend to buy. A plug-in hybrid’s combined petrol-and-battery distance is not comparable with an EV’s range. A recorded range figure and the lowest price may concern different trims: read the version note. A missing value means unconfirmed, never zero. Allow margin for speed, terrain, weather and a detour to a charger.

Make the dealership comparison useful

Build a shortlist around rear-seat access, boot space with your pushchair or luggage, parking dimensions and regular routes. Compare included equipment, written vehicle and battery warranty terms, service support and quoted delivery times. For a used car, add history, battery condition and cable checks. Warranty information from a foreign brochure must not replace the Moroccan contract.

Questions to settle before choosing

Are all BYDs electric? No: our selection also includes plug-in hybrids. Does a listed price confirm a car is available? No: a seller’s offer must specify stock, delivery and terms. Should you pick the largest range figure? No: use the test cycle, trim and your actual journeys. To compare other brands, see our Morocco electric-car guide; to report a price or trim error, send the source and date through Contact.
