Range: WLTP, CLTC and real driving
Two range figures are only useful comparisons when they measure the same thing.
Check the test cycle
Look for mixed WLTP, urban WLTP or CLTC on the specification sheet. These figures use different methods. Do not treat the highest number as a universal promise. AtlasVolt leaves unverified fields empty instead of mixing test cycles.
Leave a margin for your journeys
Speed, terrain, temperature, air conditioning and load change consumption. A car that meets your city needs may need more stops on a long trip. Plan a margin on arrival and check recent operator information.
Separate electric and total range
On a plug-in hybrid, a large total range combines fuel and battery energy. It does not describe the distance driven without petrol. Ask for both figures separately, for the correct trim, and check the test conditions.
